So Be It

So Be It

Chorus:

The most valuable thing, besides life

Is knowing how to keep it

And if the way to do that is: living right

Then you know how I need it

You gotta find your own way to the light

I’m just trying to help you see it

And if you’re just not feeling what I write

Then maybe you’re just not ready to receive it

So be it.

Verse 1:

What is the price of a life?

Well, it ranges, depending on who decides and who dies

To the murderer it’s merely the slice of a knife

To the mother, that may depend on what her age is

But no matter whoever you discover you can’t replace it

Face it, we all gotta die sometime, but what I’m sayin’ is

I’d rather die for something divine

Then in the name of fame and glory and pursuit of mine

That same old story might suit you fine

But it ain’t curing the pain I feel inside

So deal with your pride

But I’m on to what’s next

‘Cause for some reason I’m not satisfied

Knowing the world is such a threat

To life, and I can’t push that aside

I feel I have more to contribute to life

Than to just multiply by having sex, so I flex my mind

And unify, rather than divide, which is wise

But otherwise, I might as well commit suicide

For real, I have nothing holding me here

I’ll state it boldly and clear, my only fear

Is that you won’t get to hear, what I say

But now that it’s out of the way

I’m no longer afraid, I’m stronger and brave

And how I want you to behave

Is not wander without an aim, head down in shame

But to turn around and exclaim, “Wow, it’s time I gave

Something back to life for a change”

So now, be saved, and maybe I can rest in peace, in my grave

Yo, ‘cause the smartest person is the one who can gather and comprehend the most complex

And proceed, to break it down and dissect, for the purpose of appealing to another’s intellect

In circumspect, respect the teacher, who desires nothing to collect

Who only requests that you be your best and not, contest the creator

We’re all blessed creatures.

Chorus

Verse 2:

Let's talk about the way the mind works

It constantly stores facts, from the moment of your birth

At the same time, using this ever-growing database

To interact, while never going back to erase

In time and space, the mind is constantly learning

The body is the ship, the mind is the wheel turning

On a journey that is decided by a soul confined

And limited to the reaches of it’s body and mind

This the way that we enter this world

The mind in the center of mass confusion swirled

All around, and so it takes control

Totally oblivious with no reminder of soul

The guidance of the soul provides much help

This is my own definition of knowledge of self

Now hold, take two steps back and take a deep breath

Criticize what criticism that last verse left

Before you hide in your shell and laugh at my views

Understand my purpose and try on my shoes

They might not fit, but understand the shape of my feet

The path I’m walkin’ is jagged and steep

No time for draggin’ my feet, I gotta pick up the pace

Trying to escape the fate of this confused human race

Which means there’s only one way to go

Against the grain, ironically, against the flow

Humans are like salmon, that ignore instinct

Who wants to swim upstream when it’s much easier to sink?

But little do we know what’s vital for survival

You can think about it, but the world’s dying while you idle.

Chorus

Verse 3:

Death is just a part of life, part of living

Part of giving what we’ve taken

This life is a gift, we’re all forsaken

I don’t care what you believe in, in a heaven or a hell

Because, in the end we must make it by ourselves

It’s hard to tell when you’re going

Driving down the road, then all of a sudden, you never know it

It’s all over, that why I’m thankful for every moment of life

And I’m hopin’ to survive, so I dedicate it to living right and strive

That my time here isn’t wasted

Every rhyme or lyric I place in, is laced with my spirit

So I remain in your brain when you hear it again, take that painful memory and replace it

Remember something pleasant instead

Like back in the days when, it was all good

I believe everyone goes to heaven and now

For that reason, I think, we all should be righteous

I think God would appreciate it, despite all the mess that the rest are makin’

And I'm not religious, so save it

I just have this belief where I consider all life sacred

So however it was created, that's all I’m referring to

We are the children of the stars, and when I die that’s where I’ll be returning to

Forever burning true, and we could be there together, so yes, this is concerning you

I suggest you begin learning to, control your dreams

Explore the out of body, your soul is invincible and invisible

But most people hardly, ever learn to use it

Before you’re caught slippin’ and it flashes before your eyes as your life, you lose it.
